About
Physiotherapist
Hayley Ng is a physiotherapist and emerging professional dancer whose own dance training first introduced her to the rehabilitation field through multiple personal injuries. Grateful for the support of physiotherapists and other rehabilitation professionals, she pursued a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at McMaster University, followed by a Master of Science in Physiotherapy at the same institution. After graduating, she worked clinically in inpatient orthopedics and in research exploring the use of dance in chronic stroke rehabilitation. She also began teaching within physiotherapy programs at McMaster University and the University of Toronto, where she is currently an adjunct lecturer.
Hayley began dancing at age three and launched her professional dance career while completing her master’s degree. She performed with Dance: Corps, at the Youth Day Global event, and contributed to the Quarantine Qapsule digital archive on the Myseum of Toronto website. Afterward, she performed widely across Ontario, including as a soloist at the University of Toronto, as a guest performer with Georgia’s Dance & Arts Cultural Centre, and as a featured artist in the Digital Shortworks festival in Stratford. She was also a company member with Moonlight Ballet and performed professionally in Legend of Huli, collaborating with former Mariinsky Ballet dancers and award-winning musicians. Most recently, she choreographed and performed a solo piece in collaboration with the Toronto Chinese Orchestra, which was remounted for the Get Out and Dance outdoor festival in Barrie.
Passionate about both dance and rehabilitation, Hayley has sought opportunities to integrate the two, volunteering with Dance Ability Movement, the National Ballet School of Canada, the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science’s (IADMS) Dance for Health Advocacy Subcommittee, and the Healthy Dancer Canada Dancer Screening Committee. She has a particular focus on treating dancers, using her physiotherapy expertise and dance experience to help them reach their goals.
In addition, Hayley has extensive experience treating individuals with orthopedic, neurological, and complex conditions. She strongly believes in a collaborative, patient-centered approach, working holistically with each person to help them achieve their full potential.
