CNESST/SAAQ

Note: Some services listed below, especially occupational therapy, may not be available in all clinics. Please check with your clinic.

SAAQ/CNESST Physiotherapy

At Kinatex Sports Physio, we will create an individualized rehabilitation program to meet your needs.

In physiotherapy, our interventions promote physical rehabilitation.

The goals will be to:

  • Eliminate or alleviate your physical disability or pain;
  • Learn to use your residual functional capacities and thus respect your limitations;
  • Allow you to normally go about your daily activities;
  • Improve your physical abilities
  • Facilitate your work reintegration.

SAAQ/CNESST Occupational Therapy

Following a work-related accident (CNESST) or a motor vehicle accident (SAAQ), your attending physician may refer you to occupational therapy. The evaluation and treatment sessions for occupational therapy services are fully covered by the CNESST and the SAAQ.

The occupational therapist will meet with you to conduct the initial assessment, which lasts approximately one hour. The occupational therapist will assess the physical and mental barriers preventing you from performing your work or daily activities. A clinical treatment plan will be developed according to the objectives that you have established together.  This treatment plan may be adjusted based on changes in your functional status or changes in your goals.

The frequency of occupational therapy treatments provided by the CNESST and the SAAQ can vary from 1 to 3 times per week.

In what ways can CNESST and SAAQ occupational therapy help you with your return to work or daily activities?

  • Functional exercises
  • Work task simulations
  • Education on preventative measures (postural hygiene, body biomechanics, joint protection, conservation of energy and pain management)
  • Teach you how to manage your work schedule

Your rehabilitation involves teamwork

Your occupational therapist, physiotherapist and physiotherapy technician will work as a team with you and your physician in order to facilitate the rehabilitation process, help you achieve your goals and regain as much autonomy as possible.

Your treating therapist may also recommend a more intensive rehabilitation program.

HOW TO SEEK TREATMENT AT OUR CLINIC – SAAQ / CNESST / IVAC PATIENTS

SAAQ

Did you experience a motor vehicle accident? Whether you are responsible or not, it will be our pleasure to help you with your physical pain and disability.

If you experience pain following the accident, promptly see a physician for an assessment. Should the physician determine that you need physiotherapy, occupational therapy or acupuncture, you may select the clinic of your choice.

We will require the following documentation:

  • The medical prescription from your doctor, specifying the required treatments
  • Your SAAQ claim number

In order for us to open a file with SAAQ, you must sign a consent form allowing the exchange of information between our clinic and the SAAQ. We will take care of submitting everything to the SAAQ.

Once we receive authorization, we will contact you to schedule an appointment.
