Mobilize soft tissues, ease pain

IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization) is a modern manual therapy inspired by Gua Sha. Using stainless steel tools, therapists mobilize soft tissues to reduce adhesions, improve circulation, and relieve pain.

This technique is ideal for treating muscle tension, tendinopathies, sports injuries, and chronic pain. IASTM stimulates tissue healing and helps realign muscle fibers to restore movement and function.

It can be offered by trained professionals in physiotherapy, massage therapy, osteopathy, and more. Mild skin reactions such as redness or bruising may occur, but they are temporary and not harmful.

Contraindications

  • Unhealed fractures, vascular issues, fragile skin, infections, pregnancy, etc.
  • Wait at least 3 weeks after a cortisone injection before starting IASTM treatment.
