What is the Golf Program?

Do you love to play golf?  Whether you are an amateur or a more experienced golfer, you probably fell in love with the uniqueness of the sport.  Golf is a great sport that keeps you fit. It can be a friendly competition between peers or with yourself.  It challenges both your mind and body and makes you work towards improvement. Whether you shoot a 70 or 120, there’s nothing like spending a couple of hours, or even an afternoon, out on the golf course!

Now imagine yourself simply hitting the golf ball further because your golf swing is more fluid or playing several rounds of golf per month without having nagging back pain.  You would love playing golf even more!  Consulting a Kinatex golf expert can help improve objective aspects of the player and their swing to play better golf.  Read on to learn more!

TPI and the Kinatex Sports Physio Golf Program

The objective of the Kinatex Sports Physio golf program is to optimize a golfer’s physical capacities by working on various aspects such as the flexibility, the strength and the muscular control of several parts of the body including the legs, the hips, the pelvis and back, and the neck and shoulders.  Our experts have been trained to educate all golf enthusiasts, regardless of age and level, on the importance of the body’s movements and how they relate to the golf swing.

We believe golfers will benefit the most from healthy and efficient movements of the body.

All our golf therapists are all certified by the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI).  The Titleist Performance Institute is an educational organization recognized worldwide for its research center dedicated to how the human body functions in relation to the golf swing. This program is as much for amateurs as for professional golfers.

The philosophy of the program designed by TPI is that there is not “one way to swing a club, rather an infinite number of swing styles.  However, there is one efficient way for every player to swing and it is based on what the player can physically do.” *

According to TPI, each golfer’s swing is not the same however the efficiency of a swing is unique to their body. To obtain an efficient swing, a golfer must first be evaluated.  An assessment of the golfer’s swing mechanics, body biomechanics, physical fitness, quality of movements, current health status and golf playing history is carried out by a Kinatex Sports Physio therapist certified by TPI.

What is the Golf Program?

The program is a 60-minute session with a physiotherapist or an athletic therapist certified by the Titleist Performance Institute.  The therapist will conduct a specific golf assessment and build a personalized exercise program tailored to your golf swing biomechanics. The exercises and techniques taught will make a difference in your well-being on the golf course and will make playing fun again!

The golf program generally includes:

  • A complete joint and muscle biomechanical analysis (TPI assessment in twelve specific points)
  • A golf diagnosis and the identification of specific areas to work on
  • A personalized exercise program
  • A supervised exercise session if required

Once the evaluation is completed, the results are used to create two unique plans for the golfer. The first plan includes exercises to improve the body’s biomechanics and the second plan includes golf-specific drills to improve on the golfer’s swing mechanics.  Other recommendations such as complimentary fitness training, physical therapy treatments, swing coaching, nutrition, and mental strategy may be given as well.

Being surrounded by a team of experts, a golfer will see the greatest improvements. Similarly, any professional in the golf industry will see their clients benefit the most by being part of a network or team of professionals.

Follow-up sessions may be recommended depending on your condition, your wants, and your goals.  Physiotherapy, massage therapy, kinesiology, and nutritional programs can also be added to your program according to your needs.
